About Us

PC Square began in 2009 as the brain child of Mr CP van der Vyver, starting from humble beginnings in CP’s garage in Beacon Bay East London – the focus has always been on small to medium enterprises, to provide affordable, reliable products and solutions with a focus on quick turnaround time, after sales service and good honest business. This legacy continues today.

CP met Mr Lawrence Haw (then trading as HawCweb Computers) in 2016, through a mutual client and quickly struck up a working relationship which resulted in many opensource / Linux based solutions built by Lawrence being sold into PC Square’s client base, thus it made sense when CP announced his departure in 2018 to live and work in Australia, that Lawrence should take over the running of the business. PC Square is now the result of the merge between HawCweb and PC Square, and all staff were retained.

Lawrence’s IT career began in high school, from the elementary basic technician maintaining school computer lab workstations, to building campus wide solutions for file sharing, email systems, CCTV, voice and firewalling as well as web design and website hosting. These projects were almost always with little to no budget allocations, which led to the relationship with Open Source Technology – Linux.
